Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK's leading ports group, has successfully deployed CommTrac V4 at their Newport terminal in South Wales. This implementation, which manages 50% of the AgriBulk operations at the second-largest bulk handling port in ABP's Welsh and Short Sea Ports region, is part of ABP's drive for standardisation and connectivity across their portfolio. This is the fifth deployment of CommTrac V4 across the ABP network having previously launched at Teignmouth, Hull (two terminals) and King’s Lynn.
"The deployment of CommTrac V4 at ABP Newport has been a seamless transition, thanks to the strong collaboration between ABP's operational and IT teams and outstanding support from TBA Group. ABP's customers and hauliers have already provided positive feedback on the new system and reports, and ABP is eager to continue improving bulk-handling operations with CommTrac V4."
Tom Batchelor (Head of Operations, Newport)
The successful deployment of CommTrac V4 at ABP Newport was achieved thanks to the strong partnership and comprehensive framework agreement between ABP and TBA Group. The implementation delivers multiple benefits to ABP, including advanced operational data recording, standardisation across the ABP infrastructure, a unified system for all operational functions, real-time data access across ABP's terminal network, and increased value and visibility for customers.
David Trueman, Managing Director of TBA Group says:
"The powerful alliance between ABP and TBA Group has enabled us to seamlessly collaborate and establish a sturdy framework agreement that fully aligns with ABP's goal of delivering CommTrac to their bulk cargo terminals. With the successful deployment of CommTrac in five ABP terminals, we continue to fine-tune the system, resulting in increased value and reduced lead times. ABP's vision to standardise operational processes is fully supported by the versatile CommTrac solution"
CommTrac is a terminal operating system (TOS) that streamlines the management of bulk and breakbulk cargo. It integrates manual and automated assets, personnel, and management information across single or multiple terminal sites, delivering real-time optimisation of non-containerised cargo management for enhanced efficiency and productivity
