Monday evening was a big night for TBA’s CommTrac team as they picked up the Special Achievement Award at the annual IBJ - International Bulk Journal Awards.
Held in the glittering surroundings of the Honourable Artillery Company in central London, the night was a celebration of the maritime bulk industry’s achievements, with awards recognising all aspects of the sector, including safety, environmental protection and customer service, alongside the big awards for best ship operator, ship of the year and best dry bulk port.
TBA Group is no stranger to the IBJs, having been the recipient of six awards in previous years, recognising CommTrac’s excellence as a world-class terminal operating system (TOS) for the bulk cargo industry.
But receiving the Special Achievement Award, celebrating CommTrac’s 20 year anniversary, was something special and showcases CommTrac’s position in the industry. In the words of IBJ owner, Ray Girvan: “CommTrac has solidified its position as a leading TOS. Relentlessly pursuing innovation and customer satisfaction.”
While accepting the award on behalf of TBA, Managing Director David Trueman said: “It all revolves around customers. We’re really grateful to every customer who’s come on board with us. At times it felt like we were evangelists trying to preach to the industry, and now it finally feels like everyone’s on board with digitisation.”
In addition to receiving the Special Achievement Award, TBA was shortlisted for the IT Solutions Award for our work implementing CommTrac for Associated British Ports (ABP) at their agribulk terminal in Newport, South Wales.
Our Director of Software Development, Chris Hicks, also went on stage to present the Best Dry Bulk Port award to HOPA Ports of Canada.
Congratulations to all the winners and our thanks to everyone at IBJ for another fantastic evening!
