This year’s IBJ Award shortlist has been announced and we are delighted to have been shortlisted for the ‘IT Solution’ award.
This category recognises in-house and third-party IT solutions who have increased efficiency in a dry bulk cargo operation. TBA Group’s entry was in partnership with Associated British Ports (ABP) and related to the implementation of our CommTrac terminal operating system to manage agribulk operations at their Newport terminal in South Wales.
The system went live in February and has dramatically improved operations. Core features of CommTrac have led to more accurate records of vessel details, berthing locations, dates and times; detailed and easily accessible manifest data; collection tickets that offer more detail and clarity; an improved ability to evidence and capture additional invoicing requirements, ensuring greater profitability; and, crucially, a dramatically improved turnaround time for the port’s customers.

This isn’t the first time TBA has been nominated for this award, indeed we have been the recipient of six awards in the past, most recently in 2022.
TBA Group is also pleased to be sponsoring this year’s ‘Best Dry Bulk Port’ award. This award recognises efficient, safe and environmentally-friendly bulk ports demonstrating excellent customer satisfaction and innovations to deliver success. Congratulations to the shortlisted ports: HOPA Ports, Canada; North Sea Port, Belgium/Netherlands; Port of Port Hedland, Pilbara Ports, Australia; Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands; and RAK Ports, United Arab Emirates.
The IBJ Awards will be presented at their annual dinner, held at the prestigious Honourable Artillery Company venue in London on 20th November. Visit the IBJ website to find out more about the awards.
