Konecranes is planning to acquire the remaining shares in TBA Group, in which it currently holds a majority share.
The TBA software products will be further integrated with the equipment offering of Konecranes Port Solutions. The parts of the TBA Group that deliver software products to the ports and intermodal sector are planned to come under the full ownership of Konecranes.
“By bringing the TBA software products even closer to our container and bulk handling equipment we can better serve our customers and accelerate the introduction of innovations to market”, says Mika Mahlberg, Executive Vice President and Head of Business Area Port Solutions, Konecranes. “This will enable us to even better deliver advanced turn-key deliveries to automated container terminals where equipment, software and services must be seamlessly integrated.”
The current TBA design consultancy operations will be transferred to a new legal entity and remain independent of the software product organisation. The founding members of TBA will be the majority owners while Konecranes is planned to have a minority interest. The leadership team of TBA group remains unchanged except for Martijn Coeveld who will transfer to the new consultancy company in the role of director. In addition, Yvo Saanen will join alongside Martijn Coeveld as a director of this new entity and will divide his effort between TBA group and the new consultancy company.
The planned effective date of these changes will take place around the 1st of November 2022.
