Job Description

Our optimisation consultants are experts in the optimisation of processes and improvement of operational performance of terminal operations. We bring best-practices and training to our customers all over the world in a stepwise, systematic and data-driven approach resulting in a quick return on investment.
We are looking for a Junior Optimisation Consultant  who is passionate about optimising performance and processes and motivated to learn more about the logistics industry.
Our customers have high demands on our product’s stability, scalability, and performance. Your analytical skills, ability to work well with others and creativity will help us meet all these demands.

What are we looking for?

You will ideally hold a 2:1 BSc Honours Degree, or higher, in an appropriate subject or have equivalent industry experience.

    Skills and Experience

  • University degree in Operations Research, Mathematical Science, Econometrics, Logistics or Engineering or similar is required 
  • Demonstrable strong analytical skills 
  • A keen interest in the logistics domain and container terminal operations 
  • Ability to collaborate within an international and diverse team
  • Ability to work independently on complex tasks and manage your own time
  • Strong attention to details and ability to process detailed information effectively and consistently 
  • Knowledge on programming languages or data science (e.g. Machine learning) is a plus 
  • Good knowledge of English, both written and verbally 
  • Experience or passion in coaching/training
  • Key Responsibilities

  • After an intensive training period, you will continue to learn on the job by working on several challenging projects for our container terminals customers. Our senior experts will support you on your learning journey.
  • You will assist the container terminals in understanding their improvement potential and guide them implementing the changes with a team from TBA. This is a challenging and gratifying process as the effect of the changes are clearly shown in the KPIs.  
  • Your day-to-day work will both involve pro-actively understanding relevant material and delivering sub-parts for client reports based on analysis of operational data and KPIs graphs such as productivity and efficiency.
  • You will validate and configure emulation models of existing and future container terminals, both visually and quantitively based on the instructions of more experienced experts. The emulation model is a digital twin in which we can test real software or future (yard) strategies and guide the container terminal during go-live or changes. 
  • Find the right balance between working independently and in a team.
  • You will attend client meetings in order to gain experience.
  • You are expected to actively contribute in our product development and give constructive feedback.
