A highly renowned organisation that is part of a multi-national group of companies and promotes a creative and dynamic work environment is looking to recruit two Application Support Engineers on a permanent basis in Leicester. We produce market leading, large-scale, distribution and supply chain software products used by customers worldwide and is aiming for further substantial growth over the next 5 years.

After a period of training you will become involved in both the implementation and support of our 24 x 7 systems, which are critical enablers of customer operations and global trade.

Right now we are recruiting two Application Support Engineers to join our team.

What are we looking for?

The Application Support Engineer is a key player within our remote Global Technical Services Team. You will be responsible for performing daily maintenance activities, troubleshooting, supporting existing installations and the on-boarding of new customers.


You will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and a 'can-do' proactive approach to working to ensure you can meet key deadlines.


  • Application Maintenance/Support
  • Experience working with EDI and/ or API messaging formats (JSON, XML, EDIFACT...)
  • Understanding of integration architectures
  • Understanding of iPaaS solutions and low code applications
  • Experience working with APIs
  • Experience of working in a IT Service Management environment and with ITIL
  • Must be comfortable working with both Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Must display a strong ability to diagnose issues in complex software applications by working through log files / interpretation of
  • Knowledge of containerised applications and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes)
  • A sound understanding of message broker technologies such as Active MQ, Rabbit MQ or Kafka
  • Strong MS SQL server knowledge
  • Good knowledge of networking.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Operation and refinement of daily support & maintenance tasks
  • Provision of 2nd / 3rd line support for EDI Interface / Terminal Operating System applications
  • Engage and consult with wider technical teams (service desk, software engineers, functional / tooling specialists, solution architect) as part of day to day work
  • Work closely with project teams and testers in ensuring releases meet BAU operational requirements for the applications and toolsets
  • Work closely with colleagues across internal and external support teams where integration is required with other products and technologies
  • Carry out Incident analysis and investigation to find and address root cause
  • Create and maintain appropriate levels of documentation including via ticket updates
  • Perform preventative maintenance as well as evaluating documented resolutions
